In September, 2012 the website of Red List of Ecosystems was opened to the public. Any person interested in knowing more about this initiative can currently have free access to the latest scientific publications related to the topic. From the website you can also have access to different news in order to maintain the audience updated regarding the process of development and application of the protocol of the IUCN Red List of Ecosystems. 90 % of the contents of the website is available in English, Spanish and French; and up to the date, it has received 27,000 visits from people all over the world. As a matter of fact, the social role of the Red List of Ecosystems keeps growing with over 4,000 followers on Facebook and 1,900 in Twitter.
Another initiative is the IUCN Red List of Ecosystems Photo Contest which is currently on its second edition. The most recent edition was made between July and October 2014, where amateur photographers from all over the world participated with a total of 235 photographs participating. You can find a video with all the winning photos in our website; and through our social media on Facebook and Twitter. The third IUCN Red List of Ecosystems Photo Contest is now on its initial stage of planning and we hope to announce it during the World Forum of Ecosystems to be carried out in China in October, 2015.
Finally, the Red List of Ecosystem Team has participated in several international conferences such as the IUCN’s Symposium on Valuing Nature (Brisbane, June, 2014) and the XI International Forum on Nature Conservation (Malaga, Spain, January, 2015), among others.
